About Palm Canyon Theatre

Palm Canyon Theatre is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the education of live stage production and the enrichment of the greater Palm Springs community and its visitors. The regional repertory theater company operates primarily with volunteers and produces about 10 Broadway musicals and classic plays each year, plus features special one-night concerts and cabarets as well as offers a children's theatre summer camp. PCT incorporates education into every production, hiring professionals as needed to teach aspiring performers and technical crews specialized skills. PCT has a small part-time staff and about 250 volunteers, which include on-stage and off-stage talent. The regional repertory theatre opens casting calls several times a year to people of all experience levels. In designing the season's lineup, the PCT team is thoughtful to ensure that parts for actors of various ages are available throughout the season. For those looking for a role off stage, PCT always needs volunteers of all skills for a variety of responsibilities behind the scenes including ushers, costumes, painting, set building, lighting and more. The regular main stage season typically runs about 10 musicals and classic productions from September to May, with a summer performance usually in July. PCT holds six weeks of children's theatre camp in June and July with about 80 participants ranging in age from 6-17. The theatre also hosts mid-season concerts and a limited number of events for other organizations throughout the year.

Sources and record information

Organization information is based on CV Giving Day registration records and public IRS records.

What “verified” means: Identity confirmed against IRS records. Participation confirmed against CV Giving Day registration. Public information compiled from the organization's own sources. Organizations that have indicated a preference against search indexing on their CV Giving Day registration are excluded from search indexing and from this site's sitemap. A cause may come from the organization's own category selection, from its IRS classification, or from CV Giving Day review; the source is always stated on the page and in this record.
