The Military Spouses’ Association of Twentynine Palms (MSA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering military spouses, families, and the greater Morongo Basin community through education, service, leadership development, and connection. Founded on the belief that strong families build strong communities, MSA exists to support those who serve alongside our nation’s service members; often quietly, and often at great personal sacrifice. Military life comes with unique challenges: frequent relocations, career disruptions, social isolation, and the constant stress that comes with service to our country. Military spouses are resilient, adaptable, and capable, but they also deserve opportunity, support, and investment. MSA works to meet those needs by creating programs that foster financial stability, educational advancement, leadership growth, and meaningful community engagement. At the heart of MSA’s mission is education as a pathway to empowerment. Each year, we award scholarships to military spouses and dependent children pursuing higher education, professional certifications, and vocational training. These scholarships reduce financial barriers, help families build long-term stability, and open doors to careers that can withstand the realities of military life. In 2025 alone, MSA awarded $36,000 in scholarships & grants, directly investing in the future of military families stationed in and connected to Twentynine Palms. In addition to scholarships, MSA is deeply committed to strengthening the local community through grants and partnerships. We provide funding to nonprofit organizations serving the Morongo Basin. Supporting initiatives such as violence prevention, youth programming, leadership development, and family support services. By investing locally, we ensure that military families and civilian neighbors alike benefit from stronger, more resilient community resources. MSA also serves as a hub for leadership development and civic engagement. Through programs like the Desert Leadership Seminar and volunteer leadership opportunities within the organization, members gain valuable skills in governance, project management, fundraising, and community advocacy. Many of our volunteers go on to serve in leadership roles across the region, creating a ripple effect of service that extends far beyond our organization. Equally important is the sense of belonging and connection MSA provides. Military life can be isolating, especially for spouses navigating a new duty station far from home. Through social events, service projects, mentorship programs, and outreach efforts, MSA fosters friendships and support networks that help families feel grounded and seen. Our membership includes spouses of active duty, reserve, retired, and Gold Star service members who are all united by shared experiences and a commitment to supporting one another. Coachella Valley Giving Day represents everything MSA believes in: community-powered change, local generosity, and collective impact. For MSA, participation in Giving Day allows us to amplify our mission, reach new supporters, and ensure that our programs remain accessible to those who need them most. Every dollar donated to MSA on Coachella Valley Giving Day directly supports scholarships, community grants, leadership development, and family-focused programming. Your generosity helps military spouses pursue education, strengthens local nonprofits, and builds a more connected, compassionate community for all. When you support the Military Spouses’ Association of Twentynine Palms, you are investing in the people who invest every day in service, resilience, and community. Together, we can ensure that military families don’t just endure, they thrive!
