Our Mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote heathy habits through the game of golf. Established in 2008 and part of 150 First Tee programs nationwide and internationally, First Tee - Coachella Valley has already ignited the spark for golf in hundreds of local youngsters. We are our own a 501 ( c ) (3) nonprofit organization (official name is Coachella Valley Youth Golf Foundation) and we are a proud program of the Desert Recreation District, located at The Golf Center in Palm Desert, with two other main program locations at Tahquitz Creek in Palm Springs and The Lights at Indio. FTCV has in schools programming at all elementary schools in the Desert Sands Unified and Palm Springs Unified School Districts, we are working with Coachella Valley Unified School District too to get them onboarded. Between our in schools program and afterschool green grass (golf course) programming, FTCV impacts over 20,000 kids a year. Our program is low cost or no cost: we proudly have a financial scholarship platform that will fund any participants fees based on family needs. FTCV also has an outreach program that works with other youth organizations introducing their students to FTCV program at a ZERO cost.
