Alianza Coachella Valley's mission is to transform the socio-economic conditions of the Coachella Valley and Salton Sea region, so that all people in all communities have opportunities to prosper. We envision one vibrant, healthy, and thriving Coachella Valley and Salton Sea region, where people have a seat at the table for decisions that affect their daily lives. Alianza Coachella Valley exists to reduce the inequities of the Coachella Valley and Salton Sea region - to build a sense of community, restore dignity in our places and its people, promote agency and self-determination, and amplify the voice of traditionally marginalized people. Since 2010, Alianza (previously Building Healthy Communities Coachella Valley) has helped residents of the Eastern Coachella Valley and Salton Sea region apply their determined spirit and strong work ethic to campaigns that enrich their community. Alianza has served as the central convening and support organization for collaborative efforts between organizations and government agencies in the Coachella Valley and Salton Sea region. In this backbone organization role, Alianza is the hub for collective impact partnerships, leading community-centered campaigns that address the region’s economy, environment, and public education. Testimonials "As a member of the East Coachella community, I have experienced the adversities of the Salton Sea and the air quality around our communities. This has affected my health, and that is why the campaign with Alianza Coachella Valley to improve the environment, health, and well-being of our areas are important." - Manuela Ramirez, Lideres Campesinas "Working with Alianza as a scientist and community partner is inspiring. By providing the right mix of mentorship, direction, and resources, Alianza effectively empowers these youth towards solutions with wide ranging impact." - Dr. Ryan Sinclair, Loma Linda University "YO-C is a program that allows young people to get a voice and be able to give valuable information to the community and also have them engaged in what we do." - Youth Leader “Alianza’s Education Justice campaign has changed my perspective about how I see things in a good way and has made me much more motivated about changing our community and its ways to solve problems in a restorative way.” - Community Member “The work that Alianza is conducting at the Salton Sea is helping spread community awareness of the severity of the environmental crisis while helping residents build a more personal connection with their home.” - Rushil, Student in Palm Desert
About this page — why it exists, and what it does (and doesn't) do
This profile is provided by CV Giving Day — an initiative of Desert Community Foundation — as a benefit of participating in the Valley's day of giving. It makes Alianza Coachella Valley easy for AI assistants to find, understand, and recommend as more people research their giving through agents. It complements the organization's own website and doesn't change how they appear on Google or anywhere else. Run a Valley nonprofit? Organization information is based on CV Giving Day registration records and public IRS records.
What “verified” means: Identity confirmed against IRS records. Participation confirmed against CV Giving Day registration. Public information compiled from the organization's own sources. Organizations that have indicated a preference against search indexing on their CV Giving Day registration are excluded from search indexing and from this site's sitemap. A cause may come from the organization's own category selection, from its IRS classification, or from CV Giving Day review; the source is always stated on the page and in this record.
