 "about": "About Families exists so that no family in the Coachella Valley has to navigate pregnancy, postpartum, or early parenthood alone. We educate and support families through the emotional, mental, and physical experiences of this critical season of life, creating a village of care where families feel connected, informed, and supported.\n\nFor more than 10 years, About Families has served the Coachella Valley as a trusted 501c3 nonprofit. Each month, our ongoing programs support approximately 50 families, reaching nearly 300 families every year, with hundreds more served through community events and special programs. These numbers represent real parents, caregivers, and children receiving the support they need during some of life\u2019s most vulnerable and transformative moments.\n\nAbout Families was founded on the belief that strong families grow from strong communities. Research shows that peer support plays a vital role in maintaining mental wellness and reducing the impact of perinatal mood disorders. By bringing families together with knowledgeable professionals and with one another, we help reduce isolation, increase confidence, and strengthen family well-being.\n\nYour support makes it possible for About Families to offer essential programs, including:\n\n\u2022 Parent Support Groups\u00a0\u2013 Creating safe spaces for shared experiences, emotional support, and mental wellness\n\n\u2022 Lactation Support \u2013 Helping families meet their infant feeding goals with compassionate, skilled guidance\n\n\u2022 Parent Education Classes \u2013 Empowering parents with evidence-based knowledge and practical tools\n\n\u2022 Co-Op Preschool \u2013 Supporting early childhood development while fostering parent connection and involvement\n\n\u2022 Community Pantry \u2013 Meeting immediate needs by providing essential supplies for families\n\n\u2022 Doula Matching\u00a0\u2013 Connecting families with trusted birth and postpartum doulas, improving birth experiences and postpartum outcomes\n\n\u2022 Doula Training Programs\u00a0\u2013 Expanding access to culturally responsive, community-based doulas in the Coachella Valley\n\n\u2022 Professional Trainings \u2013 Strengthening the care families receive by educating providers who support pregnant people and parents\n\nOur programs take a holistic approach to care, supporting the mind, body, and spirit of every family member.
